Sound
clips by Jeff Powers & The Dead Guy Blues Band

Dead Guy Blues has been performing for 3 years. They started out as a tracking
band for Jeff Powers. The songs are now recorded and will be released
on Dutch Oven Records in October 2005. The CD features 13 blues
originals penned by Jeff Powers and is a mix of modern blues with
traditional blues rythms and themes. Dead Guy Blues has been performing
the songs regularly to an enthusiastic response at their weekly
Winchester jam night and all around Northern Ohio. Their style
is unique and intense not only with their originals but also with
covers like a delta fingerpicking version of the Hendrix classic
"Voodoo Chile". DGB is Jeff Powers:Guitar/ Vocals, Chris
Boross: Bass and Gus Oswald: Drums.
Ron Hatcher is a friend and student
who let me borrow two of his amps that he built to record with.
I got some great sounds out of his little tweed with Blue Dog
speakers. Thanks for the help Ron! I'm going to ask Ron to build
me a customized version...as soon as I have the cash! There is
some great info on his website...stuff the big companies don't
want you to know including the schematics for some of the great
vintage amps that Ron builds for guitar players. www.deadguyblues.com

Sound Clip Musicians / Jeff Wadsworth - Guitars / Bruce Kelley - Drums / Betsy Lawton - Bass

Jeff Wadsworth has been playing guitar for many years. His styles range from
sixties rock to country, with some jazz thrown in along the way.
Jeff was one of the founding members of "Showdown",
a progressive country rock band, noted for their tight live sound.
Their big claim to fame came when they were approached by the
now deceased "Big Al Downing", a country star,
well known in Nashville, who wanted Showdown to be his road band. "Big Al Downing" is best known for his hits Touch
Me and Mr. Jones. The boys jumped at the chance to play with Big
Al at some of the bigger venues and found it to be a very rewarding
and eye opening experience. "Showdown" eventually
broke up and since then, Jeff has been playing some local New
England area gigs and focusing on his recording efforts. Jeff
is now a golf instructor, as well as the owner of a successful
golf club repair business and doesn't have as much time for the
road as he once did. Says Jeff, Working with Ron Hatcher
over the phone and internet has been a music saving experience
for me. I needed a way to stay motivated with my music and with
these great amps that Ron built for me, I am more than happy just
playing at home and working on my original material. It really
makes a difference how creative you can be when you can get the
sounds that you have been looking for out of your amp. I cant
thank Ron enough for making that possible. Ron's Latest amp, the Super 45. Its foundation is that of a 5F6A but the
rest is quite trick. Pre-amp, Master Volume, Treble, Mid, Bass,
Presence, and High Gain. A delicious sounding amp. Coming soon
is a clip which is a bit on the edgy side.
